MICHELLE BURNETT

Interior Designer

Michelle qualified as an Interior Designer in the late 1990's and for almost twenty years she held senior positions at top design firms before founding Cush Interiors in 2017.

Michelle's area of expertise spans the whole house including interior architecture to reconfigure room layouts. She's also a specialist high-end kitchen designer and includes custom designed joinery and furniture in all of her projects. Michelle puts quality and craftsmanship above trends to create timeless, refined interiors. With a passion for art, she commissions Irish artists to create original work for her clients. Having recovered from a serious spinal injury in 2011, Michelle has a heightened awareness and understanding of practical designs that incorporate ergonomic elements, with style and comfort always at the forefront of her mind when designing for her clients.

A lover of classic design, she seamlessly infuses hints of historical detailing and antiques into her contemporary eclectic designs. Michelle is an advocate of the adage 'do it once and do it right', encouraging her clients to hold off on a project until they have the funding to do it properly rather than settle for any compromises. This ties in with her sustainable values.

As well as a diploma in interior design, Michelle also holds a 1st Class Hons Degree in Communications (DCU), and a Masters in Creative Writing (UCD). She has spent 7 years lecturing on the BA Interior Architecture in Griffith College, and on the Interior Design Diploma programme in Portobello Institute. Her work has been featured on TV and in top
publications.

"Design to express, not to impress."
- John Tanedo?

As a designer I never impose my personal taste on my clients but rather I help to bring out their style and reflect their taste in the interiors I create for them.
